Eye-conic Eye Protection Campaign

Students are not known to follow rules, but in certain environments it is essential for safety, it is a lesson you don’t want to learn the hard way. The university environment is a new way of learning for many new students, often left alone to work on their projects. Safety is often an invisible subject with signs that become wallpaper to its audience.

Objective
To get students to wear the required eye protection in the workshops of The School of Mechanical & Systems Engineering at Newcastle University.

Objective
We focussed on making the signs much more engaging and relevant to the students, playing on a simple word pun (ironic and iconic), we used using a range of iconic imagery of people that students related to.
