Based in North Berwick, East Lothian, NB Gin has been crafting small-batch, artisan gin by hand since its launch in October 2013. Made using pure grain spirit and an uncompromising approach to quality, the brand quickly established an international reputation—culminating in being voted Best London Dry Gin in the World in 2015.
Today, NB Gin is served and stocked by some of the UK’s most respected food and hospitality names, including The Kitchin, House of Bruar, Valvona & Crolla, the Montpeliers Group, and the food halls of Jenners and House of Fraser.
Objective
To retain the distinctive essence of the NB Gin brand while evolving it into a more premium, refined, and sophisticated visual identity—one that reflected its award-winning status and high-end market positioning.
Solution
With three core products—NB Gin, NB Gin Navy Strength, and NB Vodka—there was a clear need for stronger visual cohesion across the range. We redesigned the products as a unified family, ensuring consistency while clearly differentiating each variant through considered use of colour.
Moving away from traditional adhesive labels, we introduced direct-to-bottle printing to elevate the tactile and visual quality of the packaging. Design elements were treated with greater delicacy and restraint, reinforcing a sense of craftsmanship and luxury. The front of the bottle was split into two distinct panels: one dedicated solely to the logo, strengthening shelf presence and standout, and the other housing essential product information in a clean, balanced layout.
Beyond the core range, we also designed a series of promotional gift boxes—including the playful Gin Hatter (inspired by a gin-fuelled Mad Hatter’s tea party) and the GINsolution Pack, created during lockdown to “lift spirits and keep you safe.” These limited-edition packs extended the brand personality while driving engagement and sales during a challenging period.
The result is a confident, premium brand presentation that reflects NB Gin’s quality, heritage, and ambition—helping it stand out on shelves and behind bars alike.
